After watching several presentations without ever having the chance to get straight into the action, during the Games com we finally got our hands on two playable versions of X-Men and Spiderman Destiny Edge of Time. Waiting for the two titles, respectively, scheduled for September 30 and October 14, found on this page and the next our first impressions after a brief play session. On the third page of this long article on the Marvel video games, however, are the first impressions on Marvel Super Hero Squad Online, a browser game dedicated to young audiences. Happy reading!

Focuses on the adventures of three new characters, X-Men is based on the Destiny a typically action, enhanced by a high level of customization. One of the peculiarities of the new Activision is in fact the ability to edit their own mutant powers by acquiring special enhancements, known as "Gene X". The range of options available is very high and the various combinations of mutant genes (which replicate the powers of the most popular mutant in the Marvel Universe) should ensure a good variety and allow for different approaches depending on the choices made. Just choose the factor is a recurring element throughout the game, since, in addition to decide how to grow your character, at particular narrative forks will need to choose which of the two factions (the X-Men or the Brotherhood) give their support. The plot of the game, that we remember to be edited by Mark Carey, is changed according to the faction supported from time to time, and only once reached the final level will be necessary to take a final decision.

The short sequence in which we are protagonists, set in a devastated city, showed a rather simple and immediate control and combat mechanics that do not differ from that seen in dozens of other titles of the genre. Unfortunately we have not been able to venture much into the system for customization of our mutant, limiting ourselves to a quick tour through the screens and a quick examination of the powers available: as written above, it seems a variety of strengths of X- Men Destiny, but will require a more thorough test to see what the impact of the customization of your character on the dynamics of the game. It seemed the whole rather disappointing technical achievement, both in terms of character design (the new mutants are quite anonymous, and then weighs the inability to control the most famous Marvel heroes) who care settings. Unfortunately, the little time remaining when the game does not bode great opportunities for improvement in this area.
