Do you like this story?
Two of the best games on portable consoles have had, until now, the bad luck to an audience too small for their quality. As a second chance, the new library dedicated to God of War emphasizes the commitment expended by Ready at Dawn and makes a wider range of users can use it with the blessing of its creators. Because the same team of the original versions of these laptops has been involved conversions, remodeling the smallest details so that everything works the best even on PlayStation 3.
CHAINS OF THE BATTLE
Chains of Olympus is the oldest of the group and you can see from the first load, but even more apparent after a few games. It speaks of a God of War which seems "vintage", very close to the structure of the first and second episode of the PlayStation 2, and then concentrated almost exclusively on combat. Story and characters, but also puzzles and exploration, have a very limited role in the structure, which closely follows the dictates of the Action game (or hack & slash) classic. This does not mean it's a bad game, actually: even on PSP, the development team was able to effectively reproduce the winning formula of housewives and outputs with a controller which seems the effect is amplified. Contortions have disappeared due to poor ergonomics of the laptop, and increased the fluidity of the net, it is a pleasure to embark on endless combinations and experiment with all the techniques of attack and defense with our trusty game pad. On the other hand, the higher frame rate and more immediate controls make the game easier all around, so that a veteran of the saga will have no problems to roam far and wide at the standard level of difficulty. Luckily I have kept the original settings, so just adapt and play to our talent and the problem is resolved at the outset. Remember that the location (i.e. voices and text) is entirely of good quality, while the boots are very short, although not required any installation boot.
SPECTRUM IN THE TV
Switching to Ghost of Sparta, the most recent episode ever for the entire saga of God of War (it is released in late 2010), the speech "technical" improves significantly. Thinking about the fact that the PSP hardware was identical, there is still more to reward the work done by Ready at Dawn between first and second output had made great strides. In particular, we find many elements characteristic of God of War III in terms of style and rhythm of the action. Although linear, the levels are larger and more detailed architecture, full of secret passages that hide bonus or huge boss ready to make us the party. Even the Quick Time Event, too invasive in the battles of Chains of Olympus, there are clashes between deferred and decisive limit repetitions to a minimum. If at the time of its release was defined as a "God of War III laptop," you can understand the overall quality of the game, including aspects such as plot and characterization. Throughout history, you relive key events of the past Kratos with a mix of scenes from plays, interludes in computer graphics and animated battles, all connected in a manner not at all traumatic. For those following the saga for years is an opportunity to discover much about the plot behind the scenes and find the references to scenes in other episodes have already been lived. Again, apply the observations made on the difficulty: If you are new to God of War do not feel free to raise it a notch.
SHARP HIGH-DEFINITION
On the practical one, the conversion is certainly well made although the higher resolution can not hide the poverty of the first polygonal output. In this respect, we should remember the extra effort of Ready at Dawn (at least for Ghost of Sparta) has redesigned many textures; different characters retouched and optimized movies. The overall performance, given the pretty bright colors and stylized forms, is similar to a version of "cartoon" God of War, thanks to the excellent fluidity general. The audio, meanwhile, remains well-made items for well-characterized effects and theme music with every situation experienced on screen. That said, neither of these conversions may minimally compete with God of War III is still one of the most impressive games of the entire generation, not only on PlayStation 3. The few resources available on the PSP, compared to her older sister, had forced the developers within certain well-defined borders made of characters, textures and poorly detailed scenarios. Moreover, the larger screen TV and high definition textures emphasize defects such as washed out, as on a laptop screen was adequately concealed. However, the functional side, smooth controls and fully support two games to none for the fun they can offer. Rest assured that after a few hours each polygon in the missing characters or in the background will be put aside to make room for abuse towards yet another defeat by the villain. And it is this quality, knowing how to keep glued to the screen, which separates God of War from the other action games even in its collection.
