We had left the planet Earth Resistance in November 2008, with the dramatic finale of the second episode, kidneys and legs that broke the human resistance scupper the plans of SRPA, putting an end to the tribulations of the heroic Nathan Hale and opening the door to a new, mysterious and disturbing threat. Almost three years later, the series was born with the PlayStation 3 comes to an end, at least for the moment, with a third chapter that ends the conversation with dignity and entertaining narrative opened    five years ago.

Resistance 3 opens four years after the end of the second episode, with a charming movie that quickly summarizes the evolution of the alien invasion from the planet Earth and has suffered a desperate situation now. It's the summer of 1957 and humanity is reduced to hiding, with pockets of survivors who get by each in its own way, those who continue in a heroic battle with no way out, those who hid in an illusion of pseudo normal from refugees, trying to give substance to a life of subterfuge. In this context, we find Joseph Hair, the only survivor of the tragic expedition of four years ago, he tried to rebuild his life, raise a family. But the call of duty, honor and heroism, as well as the desire to shake off the guilt for the death of Nathan Hale, soon to be felt.

Just the nature of human endurance alien invasion is concentrated mainly within the narrative of Resistance 3, which follows the long journey of Joseph Hair from coast to coast of the United States and brings together what remains of the American people. The game goes much, and good storytelling on the environment, with lots of details, more or less large, more or less subliminal, recounting the desperation which reduced the human race, going well beyond the usual diary entries can be found around. Caring for the environment is considerable and the look of an observant player can actually see many elements able to trace the historical moment in his mind telling alternative. The real story follows a fairly standard plot, solves the problems highlighted in the outline of Resistance 2 co-stars putting on a few characters and relies entirely on the successful romantic heroism of the protagonist Joseph Catelli. What emerges is a story of some poor surprises, which folds back on all the clichés of post-apocalyptic (meet heroic rebels, refugee community in religion, the inevitable group of survivors of these violent and more evil alien ...), but manages to tell an effective and visceral, as well as to propose a convincing final, terminating in a manner worthy of the story opened five years ago, thanks to the final stages of play and an epilogue bombastic simple, elegant feel. And that of course leaves open pits for future episodes, God forbid.
