Here we are the fourth and final DLC for Fallout: New Vegas after three previous expansions, which, for better or for worse, have continued the saga of the shipper with great joy of those who have enjoyed the last effort at Obsidian Entertainment. After two postponements, which did not leave anything encouraging leaked (many were afraid of a very buggy DLC on the continuing delays), Lonesome Road is now available for download and we tested the Xbox 360 version can be downloaded from the Xbox Marketplace Live for 800 Microsoft points.

Let's say that those who hoped for a final chronologically later than the main game you will face a second conclusion, but an epilogue to the party, however, has not entirely satisfied. Since in fact the last game of the DLC, not to mention the following add-on Courier's Stash and Gun Runners' Arsenal, expectations for a conclusion of the saga were at very high, but the narrative point of view represents a closure of the Lonesome Road circle a little 'below par especially compared to the previous (and significant) Old World Blues, and in terms of quests, NPCs and dialogue is still the best DLC ever churned out by the team from California.

Yet the conditions were really intriguing. The new mission starts in fact from a message of Ulysses, the Courier 6 that because of his refusal to deliver the platinum in chips pushed our alter ego to do the delivery for him sparking what we know. It is therefore to find out why the "great refusal" of Ulysses, and to do this we must explore the new venue called Divide, perhaps the area most bitter, lonely, sad and depopulated the entire world of New Vegas (there are also fearful of twenty radioactive). Not a surprise since the title chosen for the DLC, and many may also like this exasperated despair, but this is reflected both in a very low number of NPCs (and all of little interest), a map is much more linear and driven over previous DLC with paths often forced and portions of land that do not lend themselves to a particular exploration or the discovery of secret passageways or areas.

The performance of the DLC is very classical and has led us to the apocalyptic end in about five hours, but in these cases the longevity depends on our attitude (even if the side-quests are almost non-existent) and the level of experience and by the equipment. The developers recommend it to begin Lonesome Road to at least 25 and can also bring with us all the weapons, items and armor already gathered in the main game. This is because the challenge is actually tougher than the three previous DLC. In our case we started this new mission at level 33 and we met several junctures of the game very challenging, almost frustrating at times (especially with the arrival on the scene of the heinous Death claw). Fortunately there are quite powerful new weapons (including a grenade launcher, a kind of electrostatic plasma and a heavy machine gun to shoulder), while among the twenty or so new perk available we found very useful Burden to Bear, which increases the lot maximum load carried.

We also enjoyed our traveling companion, a robot that can be upgraded as well as act as a bridge between us and Ulysses has come in handy for repairing objects. A miss, in this DLC, is more of a factor of unity that had characterized the other hand (with more or less personality) the three add-on earlier. The same location add very little compared to the main game and even good ideas (the detonation of explosive devices, the Tunneled leaving the ground) can not dismiss a certain discontent, also because understanding the dialogue can be difficult even for Ulysses for " flouting "more encyclopedic. The graphics are small and always the bugs too, but if nothing else, Lonesome Road, with its desolation, reflects a certain point of view the essence of a post-apocalyptic world and this will give pleasure to many. Compared to the Old World Blues is evident, however, step back a bit 'in all sectors, but is still sufficiently well-deserved though as a grand finale, do not expect fire and flames. You'd be quite disappointed.
