Sometimes it seems that hardware is made ​​for the characteristics of a game and it seems that this is the case of LittleBigPlanet and PlayStation Life, the popular series of platform created by Media Molecule and famous too, but perhaps more importantly, for its highly flexible editor that allowed players to have fun and to create literally millions of levels, reflecting the excellent work done by the developers of this aspect of the game. Even if Media Molecule is not directly involved in the PlayStation version of LittleBigPlanet Life, philosophy still permeates British developer of the project and is religiously followed by the two studies involved on this project, the British Double Eleven, responsible for the technical side, and the Swedes Tarsier Studios, working on the creative of the game. This new version of LittleBigPlanet will offer all the tools and elements that appeared in the second episode for the PlayStation 3 , and taking advantage of the features offered by the PlayStation Life, in particular the functions of the touch screen pad and back, there will also be many new features that further expand the possibilities the novice level designers that dwell in all of us.

These three words are the cornerstones of LittleBigPlanet experience and a recent press event we had the opportunity to have a taste in his incarnation on the PlayStation Life during a mini-lecture by two representatives of the development team. The game mechanics are the same as two older brothers on the PlayStation 3, of course, with platforms, puzzles and physical setting to one, but the developers have pointed out that the structure has been adapted to the nature of the PlayStation Portable Life, and therefore will not force the player for long sessions in order to be properly appreciated. Unfortunately we could not do a direct test with the game, but we looked at one of the developers could get by on Sackboy: we have not noticed big differences compared to the PlayStation 3 version of the game and we felt it was extremely smooth. The technical implementation is not very different from that of the home version in terms of quality control and exploit both the functions that touch the gyro PlayStation Life.

The most important part of the demonstration was definitely the one dedicated to creating and sharing levels. As already mentioned, all operations are carried out with the help of the touch screen front and rear of the touchpad. Managing Editor menu there seemed much more natural and the developer has shown us how to create puzzles and levels in a few moments, especially something as simple as creating a tunnel in the ground, can be much more immediate. The new commands are also allowed to add new gameplay mechanics, such as levels of elements that can be touched with the fingers to be crushed or, using the pad back, pushed towards the player. Each object in the layer can become "tangible" player's choice when creating levels as before and there are many materials, objects and different mechanisms to enter at will. Do not miss the chance to even take pictures with the camera of the console and then use them as stickers to stick on items level. All layers created will be shared between the various versions of the game with no restrictions, other than those dictated by the hardware and the different control modes, using the Wi-Fi or 3G console and just happen to previously purchased DLC, that will be usable even on PSVita, to the delight of all the players. LittleBigPlanet seems perfectly at home on Sony's new handheld console, and we are ready to bet that the new features offered by the hardware will make players happy and creators of levels. Now we have to wait until February 2012.
