Just weeks away from our direct evidence, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is shown again, this time at the press event organized by Electronic Arts in London at that. The test platform is still the PC, but, as already said, the game will also be released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This time we tried to play with the pad for the Xbox 360, which we found attached to the station, and after a few seconds we had to adapt pretty well. The controls are the standard for an action game, with a dedicated key physical attack, another for the magical and defensive moves as a block with your shield and dodge easily at your fingertips.

The character used for this test was a magician; we decided to specialize in the use of elemental magic and a pair of circular blades that can be used in melee or run as the boomerang. Fragile when attacked at close range, mages can solve this problem with their ranged attacks with spells and sticks with which hurl spells against their enemies. The rotating blades are still very effective in combat and the character was very versatile and able to cope at all times. The meet in the middle of an adventure without having passed after the events put us in the unfortunate situation of not knowing where to go and what to do. Fortunately, the icons on the map clearly shows the villages and the destination to be reached to carry out the mission currently underway; also indicates the "services" offered in each area, such as shops, blacksmiths, and healers (essential to remove the annoying curses). On arrival, we talked to the elf-king, who confirmed what we already knew, namely that our role will be crucial in the destiny of the world, and we should do everything to stop the evil Gad low. The plot does not seem particularly original, but this is not necessarily a flaw, it is important to be told in a consistent manner and without being too intrusive or too often interrupting the flow of action.

This additional test is unfortunately not led us into a new area, but we were in the same forest have previously visited. However, the city where we met the king was the largest of the villages for which we had gone before and has revealed a design more comprehensive, although not very original: World of War craft players are likely to have a sense of deejay vu reminding them of the Blood Elf starting areas. Despite this, the design of the area is pleasant and perfectly in keeping with the atmosphere of the game. Although we have collected a lot of raw materials during our explorations, unfortunately we could not test the system to create items like potions and weapons, but the vast amount of material suggests that this part of the game will be much deeper. The Destiny have confirmed a flexible and easy to use and allowed us to create a fun character to use in minutes. Do not worry too much if in the course of the game you will realize just created a character to suit your style of play, because the world of Amalur are scattered so-called Fate weaver, NPC, for a fee, will void your choices and allow you to reassign all the points. To compete with Sky rim is an enormous task, but Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is not pulling back from confrontation and could be a pleasant surprise. And the release date to February 2012 is approaching.
