THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN: SECRET OF THE UNICORN free with key
Do you like this story?
We are very curious to find out what will be the total box office from The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn, performance capture films of Steven Spielberg (Peter Jackson produced) based on the eponymous comic book series of the Belgian Georges Remi, who in Over the years he has sold over two hundred million copies translated in seventy countries. Nevertheless, Tintin will not say much to the players and younger players (especially American), but Spielberg is Spielberg's always (apart from some of the recent debacle television) and the inevitable tie-in Ubisoft's Montpellier entrusted to internal studies looks promising.
A TREASURE TO DISCOVER
As in the movie in cinemas in these days, played the young reporter Tintin, who one day, thanks to his dog Milo , he discovers a model of an ancient ship that hides within it a kind of map. Neither would have it, this is a great treasure to find clues, but Tintin is not only interested in the map and just from an adventurous chase kicks off the game. Ubisoft Montpellier has rightly opted for a rather classic 2D platform, which does not hesitate, however, sections of 3D gaming on a plane and a sidecar. The stage platform, however, have some originality, both in the way of getting rid of enemies (punch, banana skins, balls, candles, oil slick and cauldrons), and in the small puzzles to activate or block gizmos. On this side of the level design was superior to expectations, incorporating a few bonuses to recover and hiding secret areas that drive the player to have a look 'round.
The location, although a little 'internal repetitive between levels, at least provide a variety of dignity and the model platform, limited only by handling the camera a bit' controversial, it works just fine. The other breakers in 3D (very "drones") serve as a little 'filler and do not denote the same care in level design, but are also accompanied by additional bonuses such as swordplay, and a sort of naval battle, which in addition to break a little 'rhythm also serve to increase longevity. The more experienced players, in fact, do not take more than five / six hours to complete The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn, also because of slow enemies and just wake up and easy to medium difficulty the target of the game is clearly aimed at smaller and less seasoned gamers.
THE HALLS, THE CONSOLE
Fortunately, we find also a game mode in co-op with two players to stretch the whole. Here we have to cross levels similar to those of the single player campaign (appearing just a little 'more quirky such as design), working with our partner to get through as quickly as possible. An interesting addition, though with few variations in the game play, but at least the presence of another player turned out to be pleasant. Everything described so far refers to the version of the game for the Xbox 360, which in some places (the so-called Challenges and sections with vehicles) also allows a limited use of Kinect and offers co-op only locally on the same console. However, we also tried the version for 3DS and feel are almost identical. On the Nintendo characters have less bonus to play co-op and the dubbing is missing, which led developers to cut scenes similar to tables of comics with "clouds" in place of text entries.
The 3D has proven to be a very pleasant in their time of play more driven as depth (the flying scenes for example), but in the plat forming sections take effect can often mislead, although even in this case add something more terms of engagement. For both consoles is still the same argument on fidelity to the original comic books, certain poses are identical (for odd contortions of the enemies hit), the graphic style opt for light colors / shades and all in all, this is a film adaptation, the impact vision is better than expected, especially in the case of 3DS, which frankly I do not feel the lack of intermission mediocre movies in the Xbox 360 version. It only remains to see how the appeal of Tintin will attract younger players and how, with so small a difficulty, the most experienced and nostalgic are interested in purchasing. Waiting to find out, you can always throw on the film, besides a pair like Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson will not come across every day.
